As a citizen of the world and seasoned traveler myself, I at one point got bored of visiting new places and ending up in all the touristy areas. Haven´t you?
I have always admired the power and creativity of Estonian creatives and while traveling wanted to meet local talent. Often have I been stopped and asked about the accessories and always the person has been amazed getting to know it’s Estonian design. Estonian design is one of the best-kept secret of our small nation.
That’s why I founded DesignTours, where I help fashionistas discover the unconventional off the track designs that will help you get non stop compliments. Whether you are looking for a new outfit, jewellery or unique souvenirs for your house!
About your guide, Piret
After living on three different continents, I discovered that I have three loves, fashion, travel and Estonian design.
In my work life, I help Estonian companies expand internationally. A few years ago I ran a program that helped Estonian designers do just that. It was the BEST job of my life and I got paid to hang out with the most creative people in my country.
Whenever you feel like it!
It can be early morning or late evening but bear in mind that the creatives need to rest as well. So, maybe a Friday afternoon to give the weekend a great start or a lazy Saturday for a nice personal shopping experience and exploring is the best fit for both, the traveler and the creative mind.

I had the pleasure of being the first to enjoy a tailor-made design tour with Piret and it was amazing. We stopped at the shops of various Estonian designer and I had the pleasure of speaking to the designers personally to get an idea of the inspiration for their various products and the work that went into making each item. Everyone spoke excellent English so communication was not an issue and each designer was very warm and inviting. After the tour, I felt like I got to be at the forefront of up and coming Estonian design and best of all I got some great, original pieces that are often complimented when I’m out and about. I really love my upcycled T-shirt and sweater from acknowledging Estonian designer and front-runner in the circular design.

We had great time with my daughter exploring a funky neighborhood of Tallinn with Piret. Made cool pics and found beautiful teacups that remind us of a beautiful stroll on a summer night for long.
